FEATURED ACTIVE-ISTS

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
Anne Frank

We all can use a little good news these days. We want to be inspired. We know there is goodness and selflessness out there, that there are people who strive every day to make the world a better place. We just don’t hear much about these people. Until now.

How Far Would You Go exists to share the stories of amazing people doing amazing things. On this page, you will find two such stories, which we will follow as they unfold. Through video vignettes, photo galleries, blogs and other formats, we will join these Active-ists on their adventures and help them share their stories with a world aching to witness the humble heroism of humanity.

Several years ago, Tommy Danger launched the More Than Just Me Foundation, seeking to create awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and other issues through adventures. Today, Tommy and his climbing partner, Mark Nolan, are attempting their biggest adventure yet: scaling the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each of the seven continents.

Brothers John and Kurt Schwartz will row a custom-built 24-foot boat, the Bonny Rey, 3,000 miles from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean to benefit The Samfund, a unique charity that supports young adult cancer survivors. They are the only American pair competing in this year’s Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.
